English Language Proficiency

Coming from many different countries, our students bring the diversity that one expects and appreciates at an International School. At the same time, since classroom instruction in Canada is in English, these same students need to have an English language proficiency that empowers them to perform well academically, advance from one grade to the next, and ultimately earn a High School diploma.

Regrettably, at present, DEVI School cannot provide an ESL (English as a Second Language) program, which some applicants may need. So, before admittance, students' English proficiency levels are evaluated to ensure that they are positioned to succeed in the grade they are entering.

Applicants whose native language is not English may be asked to attain a satisfactory score on an English language exam. Planning ahead of enrolment, we would advise students to assess their English language abilities and, if needed, seek help with preparing for an eventual exam and interview. Questions regarding English language proficiency can be directed to enrolment@devischool.org.
