Assistant General Manager

The Assistant to the GM will support the current GM with the daily operation of the school.

Some of the areas and tasks you’ll be involved with are:

  • Organizing insurance coverage
  • Coordinating yearly inspections (for example fire alarm or furnace)
  • Ensuring building code and fire code regulations are being met
  • Maintaining and repairing all school properties (with help of staff and handymen)
  • Ensuring the smooth running of all school properties (heating, plumbing, electricity)
  • Coordinating lawn care, waste management and snow removal with staff
  • Ensuring and maintaining a positive relationship with the local community, municipality and its Councilors
  • Supporting the treasurer/bookkeeper in maintaining all accounts with accuracy and monitoring finances, generally
  • Supporting the Principal in the smooth running of the school and dorms
  • Dealing with all work and study permit issues (with help of staff and school Immigration Lawyer)
  • Supporting the kitchen team
  • Observing and maintaining a good relationship with all school suppliers
  • Supporting the School Society as needed
  • Helping to create and oversee the content of the school website and newsletter s
  • Helping with Fundraising

Please note that a two years commitment is expected and a driver’s license is required.
